about me

Me in five words? Small, Sassy, Spontaneous, Saved & Confident.

I didn’t want to use words that all started with “s”, or else you might have thought I was a little OCD…

I think the sheer fact that I had to explain that to you clearly gives away that I am indeed obsessive.

I don’t believe in living in the past  and I don’t believe in regrets. We are who we are because of the choices we’ve made, good or bad.  I’m learning day by day not be troubled about the future because it hasn’t come. Where does that leave me? Living in the present.  I read a quote once that said, “Don’t let the past steal your present.” and it stuck with me.  We have to live life fully right here where we are and make each day intentional. Read, dance, floss, praise, cook and travel…these are my must-do’s in life. Be bold, ambitious, creative, loving, and satisfied.

Be yourself.

I’ve been blogging on and off since 2004 but this site chronicles my life from 2007 and the seasons I am going through.  I write about memories, experiences, lessons learned, food & cooking, crafting and plenty of other facets of life. Currently I’m pregnant with my first child, so blogging has slowed down from my fast-paced days of marriage without kids.

This is me: becoming myself.

I  have spent my life as a resident of the South, and I’ve only recently become a proud Southerner; which anyone who knows a true Southerner knows we are always proud! I was raised in a single-parent home but my family has always been spread out all over the world, so once I moved off to college, I quickly made several friends that became my pseudo-family.

I graduated college in 2005 (I was on the super-duper extended plan), and I decided to plant roots in Texas. I became a self proclaimed blog-o-holic and social media junkie. Crucial tasks like bathing, grocery shopping and sleeping were replaced with endless hours on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, and, of course, writing material for this blog.

In 2007 I reconnected with my biological father and we reconciled 26 years of hurt and pain.  We have since been building a relationship and I’m blessed to say that in October 2010, my father walked me down the aisle in my wedding.

On 10-10-10 I married the second love of my life, second only to Jesus, and I moved to Florida with him.  Almost instantly I became a wife, a new resident to Florida and a step-mom to Faith, my husband’s daughter (she lives with her mom and stepdad).

We recently left Florida and moved halfway across the USA back to Texas (for my husband’s job) where we bought our first home and found out that we were pregnant with our first child!

Besides getting adjusted to all of that, some things stayed the same.  I work from home and still daydream about the fabulous vacations my hubs and I hope to take, albeit they will look a lot different with a kiddo in tow!

I’m also an avid reader and love finding good books for cheap (or free) on Kindle as well as participating in a monthly book club that chats online.  A few other things I enjoy are: volunteering and serving others, cooking meals with whatever is in the fridge, and I have a passion for sharing The Gospel with my words and actions.

I hope to be intentional with my writing, and to impact my readers in a positive way. In a world of discontentment, pain, poverty, brokenness, etc. it’s nice to have some sunshine every once in a while.

  1. Hi Bianca,

My name is Bonnie Clark and I am a Casting Producer for Season 2 of the Style Network’s docu-series,”Dallas Divas & Daughters”. We feature relationships between mothers and their daughters with high society Dallas as the back drop to the show. Currently, we are looking for additional cast members, and I was hoping you could help us spread the word that casting is happening now. I would be happy to send you a flyer with more details. Eligible candidates would live in the greater Dallas area and the daughters will be high school to college age. Anyone interested in applying or recommending someone should contact us right away at bonnie@4thfloor.tv. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

    Kind regards,

    Bonnie Clark

  2. Hi! Found your blog via SITS and I’m so glad I did! Really enjoying what I’m seeing so far. You are gorgeous and I LOVE that you love Jesus so much! It is always such an encouragement to find other Christians in the blog world! Going to check out more of your blog right now. :)

  3. Thanks for visiting my blog! I agree with Rach, it is nice to see so many Christians out there blogging.

  4. You are absolutely beautiful. Do you love Florida as much as TExas? I don’t ever want to leave TExas. I love it here, but FLorida just might have a fighting chance if any state does.
