When my friend Jes had her baby almost 2 years ago some friends and I decided to host her a baby shower! I was in charge of invites because I love paper crafting. However, my achilles heel with paper crafting is that I rarely like to duplicate the same project over and over. Seeing as we had 40-something invites to make, I kinda of shuddered at the idea of making the same invite numeroys times… To balance this – I opted for a cute onesie look that I could use a variety of papers on!
I free hand drew the pattern for the onesies and then traced it on to several different sheets of cardstock. We also traced it onto the various papers we bought to make the onesies look patterned. Then I used a scalloped punch to out scalloped circles for the leg holes. I then punched a circle out of the scallops and glued them to the onesies and trimmed off the excess.
After they were all assembled, the embellishments began. I used little miniature buttons from the craft store and glued them in pairs right under the neckline. I also added little silver-colored dome-shaped stickers to the bottom of the onesies to mimic the look of snaps.
Over all they turned out so adorable and Jes loved them! We even went with a onesie theme and had a laundry line with onesies clothes-pinned to it that we draped across the fireplace mantel.
Baby showers are so fun!
